Millefoglie - Thousand Leaf Apple Dessert


If you have a sweet tooth then why not try our Millefoglie - Thousand Leaf Apple Dessert...it's very yummy! This recipe is featured on both our Puglia Cookery Holiday as well as on our course held in Tuscany. Our beautiful venue in Puglia dates back to the 18th Century. Ingredients
- 1-2 Eating Apples
- 1 teaspoon Cake Yeast
- 150g Butter
- 1 Egg
- 100g Sugar
- 100g Plain Flour
- Pinch of Cinnamon (optional)


Instructions

  • Peel and thinly slice the apple(s) – use a potato peeler to ensure wafer thin slices
  • Melt the butter gently and allow to cool slightly
  • Whisk in the egg and mix in the flour, yeast, sugar and cinnamon (if used)
  • Fold in the apple slices
  • Divide the mixture into 8 greased tin foil individual pudding dishes or ramekins and bake for 35 – 40 minutes at 180C


To Serve
Turn out onto individual plates and top with a scoop of ice cream and enjoy...!
