After breakfast we were straight into getting our hands dirty again. We spent the morning making 3 different types of pasta dishes as well as a traditional authentic Italian tiramisù. Dominico told us about a strawberry version which he had recently discovered. We were all so taken with the idea of a strawberry tiramisù that Diminico suggested we make one the following day…and there were no objections to such a delightful suggestion!
After lunch, we were free to do what we wanted. There was the option to go to a nearby spa or play some golf, and while the other guests did venture off with Giada, I remained at the villa and did a little bit of reading while soaking up the Italian atmosphere.
In no time at all, the afternoon had vanished and we were back at the dinner table again. Our main meal consisted of Pollo Cacciatora which is a chicken dish with olives, tomotoes, rosemary and garlic served with roast potatoes, chickaree and asparagus followed by the all too fatten, though completely divine, tiramisù…!
At the end of the meal Giada produced a bottle of Limoncello, which is a lemon liqueur produced in Southern Italy. From then on, we had Limoncello each and every night after our evening meal…I blame Roger and Sarah…two of the other guests…I do believe they were a very bad influence on me! Because normally, I’m not much of a drinker! But when in Rome…
