Holidays in Scotland, UK
Offering some of the most gorgeous scenery, beautiful cities and incredible wildlife in the whole of the UK, Scotland is one of the most diverse countries you could hope to visit. After all, there aren’t too many places around where you can find yourself in a bustling city centre one minute, and then after less than an hour in the car, be surrounded by jagged mountains and vast expanses of water.
The charming capital city of Edinburgh is a beautiful blend of stunning, historic architecture in the Old Town and busy high streets in the new town, while Glasgow is Scotland’s cultural centre with its numerous galleries, museums and attractions. Drift further North and you’ll find Scotland’s glorious Highlands, broken up by breathtaking lochs and mountains, and home to the famous Highland cows as well as deer, and even seals.
With so much wonderful produce right on its doorstep, Scotland has a rich culinary heritage too. Wild game and fresh fish from the coast are common occurrences on restaurant menus, and that’s not to forget the national dish of haggis – best followed by a glass of locally distilled Scotch whisky.
