Fàilte gu Aberfeldy! You will arrive at your luxurious Highland lodge where you can settle in, meet your host and chef and enjoy a traditional afternoon tea with welcome drinks. You then have time to explore the lodge and the stunning surrounding 5.5 acres of land. Join your fellow guests for pre dinner drinks and a traditional Scottish dinner this evening at the lodge.
After breakfast, you will head into Aberfeldy, a small market town famous for being mentioned in the poem The Birks Of Aberfeldy by Robert Burns. You will enjoy a wander round this quaint town and your host will show you the best spots to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Not to mention a visit to a local gallery, bookshop and the famous Glen Lyon artisan coffee roaster. Lunch will be at the lodge and then you will start your first cooking lesson with your chef using local produce to prepare dinner for that evening. After the lesson, we will visit the famous Aberfeldy whisky distillery for tasting and tour before heading back to the lodge for dinner.
After breakfast our driver will pick you up and you will go on a foodie trail of Perthshire. First stop the Highland Chocolatier for a tour and tasting at this amazing shop which is the home of the famous Velvet Truffles®. Then we make our way to Dunkeld to visit the Dunkeld Smoked salmon this small local producer dry cure the salmon in salt and smoke it over whisky oak barrels. We finish off our foodie tour with a visit to the Aran bakery run by runner up of the Great British bake off. Back to the lodge for lunch prepared by your chef. After lunch you will have your cooking lesson with your chef using the produce from your foodie trail. Dinner will be at lodge this evening.
After breakfast, our local Highland Forager will come to take you on a foraging tour of the local area. Then its back to the lodge with your finds for your last cooking lesson. Lunch will be at local Scottish restaurant. Later in the afternoon, you will be enjoying a gin tasting in the lodge and then you will enjoy a Scottish-style farewell dinner. Slàinte!
After breakfast, you have time for one last wander round the grounds of the lodge and any last minute packing before our drivers come to collect you and take you back to Edinburgh Airport or Edinburgh Waverley station. Haste ye back!
