This activity taster week for Amici is in stunning beachside Elie, on Scotland’s driest and sunniest coast. Our small-group accommodation is in West House, a large immaculately renovated 17th-century customs house with seven en-suite bedrooms. It’s overflowing with charm, artworks and sea and sky views – a lovely setting, and a perfect spot to get to know fellow Amici.

    Holiday Itinerary


    Saturday -

    Arrive in Edinburgh. Collection Edinburgh Waverley station at 1 pm or Edinburgh airport at 2 pm Transfer to Elie for welcome drinks and dinner.


    Sunday -

    After Scottish breakfast, meet our photography tutor Ciara. We welcome total beginners on this taster week. Ciara will give top tips for taking better photos whether you’re using a swanky SLR or just your mobile phone. In this small group, everyone will get plenty of help, whatever their experience. We’ll be out exploring beautiful compact Elie and its sea views, with lunch and dinner back at West House.


    Monday -

    After breakfast drive to Dundee and visit the celebrated V&A museum; lunch in Dundee, then return via St Andrews, a historic and attractive coastal town famed for being the home of golf and setting for Chariots of Fire. There’ll be time at leisure to explore, and then we return to West House for dinner.


    Tuesday -

    After breakfast, meet your painting tutor and enjoy a painting day. Again, we welcome absolute beginners or those seeking to get back into the joy of painting. It’s a stunning setting to capture in paint. Lunch and dinner at West House.


    Wednesday -

    After breakfast, we’ll venture out on a Fife foodie tour, starting at Kingsbarns with both whisky and gin tasting! On to a local cheese producer, and then to a fish smokery for freshly caught seafood. We’ll eat throughout the day, returning to West House for dinner.


    Thursday -

    Day at leisure, where you can spend time developing your new skills in painting or photography. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.


    Friday -

    After breakfast, enjoy a gentle Pilates session, suitable for everyone (even if you’ve never tried it before). Lunch at West House, afternoon walking along the picturesque Fife coastal route. Final dinner at West House.


    Saturday -

    After breakfast return to Edinburgh (drop off 12 pm at the airport or 1 pm at Waverley Station).
