Sicilians love to celebrate and you will enjoy the spectacle that is the ‘botti’ (fireworks) at midnight.
You will spend five days exploring the local area, visiting ancient towns and villages nearby, and relaxing at your beautiful villa. Enjoy the fruits of your labour from your cooking lessons with ‘Cenone di Capodanno’ – a traditional New Year’s Eve dinner.
New Year’s Day will be spent visiting the stunning town of Ragusa to immerse yourself in the Sicilian festivities and lest we forget the magnificence of the Sicilian “Presepi” (Nativity scenes) which can be found in most homes and churches.
So come and toast to 2021 with a limoncello in hand surrounded by friends in true Sicilian style!
Villa Aragonese, this elegant and historical villa is an old fishing tower, placed in the heart of the rural region of Modica on the Byzantine plateaus of the Iblei’s. Uninhabited for over fifty years, after meticulous restoration work the villa has finally reached its original splendour.
Rich with family history and authentic character that has preserved this beloved tower from past ages, the villa is marked by characteristic “dry” stone walls (muri a siccu). Featuring views of the sea and surrounding environment, visitors can indulge in the corner of Sicily bursting with art, history, landscapes and nature.

Tuesday 29th December
Benvenuti! Welcome to Sicily! Your host Livia will meet you in arrivals at Catania Airport at about 17:30 when you arrive. She will be holding a sign that says ‘Flavours’. You will be transferred to the villa where you can settle in, meet local chef Carla and enjoy your welcome drinks. Then it’s time to relax and enjoy dinner cooked by our chef.
Wednesday 30th December
After breakfast, you will have your first cookery lesson with your chef, followed by lunch. The afternoon will be spent visiting the Presepe di Ispica, which is a nativity scene located in the ancient caves of Ispica. Dinner is served at the villa.
Thursday 31st December
In the morning, after breakfast, we will go to Modica to taste its famous chocolate from a local producer. Afterwards you will return to the villa for lunch before your cooking lesson which will involve preparing the big “Cenone di Capodanno” (New Year’s Eve) celebration dinner. Enjoy a real Italian celebration, excellent food, wine and company while you wait for the arrival of 2021!
Friday 1st January
A late breakfast, after a late night. Time to relax before “Il Pranzo di Inizio Anno” (New Year’s first lunch) is prepared by our chef, to welcome in 2021. In the afternoon, you will go to the stunning town of Ragusa with a chance to explore before dinner at a local restaurant.
Saturday 2nd January
After breakfast, some time to pack. We will have lunch at the villa before you will be transferred back to the airport for your flight home.
