Unusual Holidays

More and more people are waving goodbye to traditional lie-on-a-beach holidays. In these times of experience holidays and fulfilling your bucket list holidays, many are searching for a more rewarding getaway.

Experiencing an activity while on holiday will take you back home much more fulfilled. Learning something new or improving a skill makes you feel inspired. Over 45% of our holiday guests are returning customers, and many have said that having an activity to take part in each day is a significant reason for their return.

Activity holidays in Italy and Spain

You don’t have to do something too wild and wacky to get that feeling of holiday satisfaction. On a Flavours holiday, you choose from Pilates, cooking, learning Italian, photography or painting. And we have a choice of fantastic Italian locations – Amalfi, Tuscany, Sicily, Bologna, Puglia and Venice, and recently, Andalusia in Spain too.

You don’t even need to be accomplished at any of these activities before you come. Our tutors are all experts and used to dealing with all skill levels. Our small groups (typically between 6 and 10) mean that there’s time for everyone to get one-to-one attention. Why not try something new for an unusual holiday?

We’ll also let you into one of the secrets of our success – we don’t just concentrate on the activity. There’s plenty of time to relax – all our villas have pools. We take you to remarkable and historic locations nearby to explore — Florence in Tuscany, for example, or Ragusa in Sicily. Italy has so many fabulous places, and we have our favourite spots in many of them.

Flavours holidays are all about the perfect balance. You spend time on your chosen activity, but you also have a relaxing break, staying in villa accommodation that we’ve meticulously chosen. We serve you excellent food and wine, cooked by a local chef at your villa, and also take you out to local restaurants for a meal or two. Everything is included in the price, from food and wine to excursions and airport transfers. So these may be unusual holidays, but they come hassle-free!

Single travellers

We’re also great advocates of travelling solo. Around 70% of our guests are solo travellers. We never charge a single supplement, so you get your own room at no extra cost.

Picking an unusual holiday as a solo traveller is a brilliant way to meet like-minded fellow holidaymakers, yet also have time to yourself. Because you all choose the same activity, you’ll have something in common, and participating in the activity every day keeps everyone stimulated and busy.

Take an unusual holiday to stay young!

Choosing an activity holiday that’s outside the norm keeps you young! If you take up a new hobby or activity later in life, there’s plenty of evidence that it keeps you feeling more youthful and more engaged. Have a read of our blog on the subject »
