Our 2026 Charity Art Exhibition has a collection of artwork created by members of our Amici community, each inspired by their painting holidays and travels with Flavours Holidays.
Dabton House in Scotland has been a special place for many of our Amici, bringing together beautiful surroundings, creativity and time spent painting together.
This collection of artwork captures the landscapes, gardens and quiet moments that make Dabton House such a memorable place to visit. Each piece reflects the individual experience of the artist and the memories created during their time there.
The Secret Garden

This gentle watercolour captures a moment of stillness found within a secluded corner of the historic Dabton House gardens in Dumfries and Galloway. Delicate brushstrokes bring to life the rich layers of the estate’s foliage. A sunlit golden tree takes centre stage against a backdrop of soft greens. The composition invites the viewer to step away from the bustling world and enjoy the peaceful beauty of a hidden Scottish garden in full bloom.

Nithdales Landscapes

“Like most of my paintings, Nithsdale Landscapes captures a memory, a feeling, and a fleeting glimpse of the countryside as the bus wends its way to
Kirkcudbright. The artwork brings to life vibrant green fields bordered by traditional stone walls, dotted with wild teasels and poppies. Scattered whitewalled farmhouses nestle among the rolling hills, all resting under an air that feels beautifully clean and bright.”

Galloway’s Rolling Hills

Created during an immersive painting holiday at Dabton House, this piece depicts the rolling hills and lush fields of Galloway. The project challenged the artists to distil the surrounding Scottish landscape into its purest forms. To achieve this, the artist experimented with glazing, deliberately overlapping transparent watercolour washes of the fields, hills, and sky to explore the interplay of tone and depth.
Painted to the soothing sounds of classical music, the artwork captures not just a physical location, but the serene headspace of the creative process itself.

A Cloudy Kircudbright

This striking watercolour captures the fast-shifting weather of Kirkcudbright, nestled along the Solway Coast. A traditional, white-walled harbour cottage anchors the foreground against an imposing sky painted in layered greys. In brilliant contrast, a sudden pocket of light illuminates the rolling green hills across the estuary and catches the shoreline where boats sit at rest. The piece beautifully showcases the moody charm that has drawn generations of painters to this famous Scottish art colony.

Countryside Elements

Through a vibrant lens, this piece strips the Scottish countryside down to its essentials. A towering, crimson hillside shears diagonally across a brilliant yellow sky, juxtaposed against the cool serenity of a deep blue loch. The black-ink overlays, depicting a lonely hillside croft with weathered pine trees and wandering figures, introduce a sense of rustic intimacy to an otherwise otherworldly environment. The art acts as a striking celebration of rural solitude.

Unframed A3 prints are priced at £55, A4 prints are £39. A small £3.50 charge is added if you’d like us to post a print to you.
Framed prints can be collected at the exhibition (£65 A3 and £49 A4).
Remember that every artwork sold from The Art of Scotland collection and every donation will help support Maggie’s, which provides free support for people living with cancer and their families, and Pebbles Projects, which helps disadvantaged children and families in South Africa through education, nutrition and community programmes. Your generosity will help these charities continue their life-changing work while celebrating the joy of travel, art and community.
