Our Cooking Vactions in Roma are held in Villa Roma

The living area within the villa is very large and consists of three separate sitting areas plus dinning area. There is a quite area for reading and relaxing as well as a sitting area where you can watch some satellite television or listen to some music. The villa also has a large open fire place surrounded by a further sitting area, where lemoncello and samboca can be enjoyed after your three course, sometimes even four course, dinner. If you're looking for a bit of light entertainment during your stay with us at Villa Roma, then why not challenge your fellow course mates to a game of billiards or table tennis after dinner and a few glasses of wine...fun will be had by all! *hiccup*

Our Cookery School in Rome is Villa Roma which has both an indoor and outdoor pool as well as a tennis court

The villa also has an interior swimming pool encased by glass windows which look out onto the surrounding Italian countryside. Outside you can relax in the sunshine and laze beside the outdoor swimming pool, or alternatively, if you're feeling more energetic, then perhaps you'd like to play a game of tennis on our private court. You can always go for a walk along the paths of the Calandrina woods that surround the Villa and reach the wonderful village of Trevignano. If you're a fan of horses then you might be interested to hear that there is a riding school nearby, where you can rent a horse and explore the surrounding area. We are also located close to a beautiful golf course, which might interest those of you who are fond of the game.

If you decide to extend your stay in the area, then we can recommend some sights in the nearby areas, as well as pointing you in the direction of some lovely restaurants and advise you on some wonderful wine from the region. See our guide for more information on things to do and see in the region or alternatively, you could take a peek at some of our delicious Italian recipes.

The Villa and Surroundings

Villa Roma is located on top of a hill facing Bracciano Lake and surrounded by uncontaminated woods of the natural reserve of Bracciano. Don't be surpised if you get to see wild bird, boars and porcupines living free all around.

Trevignano is a picturesque village of about 4,000 inhabitants stretching along the northern shore of Lake Bracciano, formerly known as Lake Sabatino. Built on a basalt cliff, the village lies at one end of a small bay, formed by the secondary crater of an extinct volcano. Thanks to its south-facing position and the presence of thermal waters, the place has always attracted human habitation. Indeed, prehistoric archaeology has brought to light the existence of a now-submerged lakeside village built on stakes, dating back to the Bronze Age.

Bracciano Lake is extremely popular among roman citizens who want to escape from the busy city. In fact, a lot of Romans have decided to establish themselves in one of the 3 towns along the lake, Bracciano, Trevignano or Anguillara. It’s hard to believe that such a beautiful, historical and uncontaminated place can exist just 30 minutes outside Rome. During your stay with us you'll get to explore Bracciano, Trevignano and Rome as...Cooking's Just the Half of It!

Evidence of Trevignano’s former importance as an Etruscan settlement are the many necropolises which stretch for some three kilometres along the hills behind the present-day village. These have yielded interesting finds which are now housed in the municipal museum of archaeology. If you decide to spend a little more time in this beautiful area then you might find our recommendations for things to do and see in and around Rome useful. We've also compiled a list of excellent wines from the Rome Region...don't try them all at once though...
