Our 2026 Charity Art Exhibition has a collection of artwork created by members of our Amici community, each inspired by their painting holidays and travels with Flavours Holidays.
Italy has always been a favourite destination for our Amici artists, with its beautiful landscapes, historic towns and relaxed way of life providing endless inspiration. This collection brings together artwork inspired by the places our Amici have visited, from charming villages and coastal views to the everyday scenes that make Italy so memorable.
Salento Breeze

Visible is a fleet of sailboats gliding across the famously clear, turquoise waters of Salento. Peering through a foreground of coastal grasses and wild blooms, the

“The picture shows myself, our art tutor Mark and my friend Pam walking along a Venetian alleyway looking for suitable scenes to paint. When I was painting it, I realised that I had to be bolder in my use of colour. Originally, it started as an exercise in perspective, but then developed into one in colour.”
What stands out about this piece is how you can really feel the walls of colour closing in as the alleyway progresses. The artist has beautifully captured the palette and scale of a typical venetian street.

“We visited the peaceful, beautiful fishing village of Marzamemi and I thought, this is what typified Sicily for me.”

“A rainy day in Lucca is also drenched in colour and joy. It might be raining, but I am loving being in this place with these people, surrounded by beautiful architecture.”

“During our art holiday in Puglia with Mark, we visited the hilltop town of Specchia. There, we studied perspective while basking in the serenity and beauty of the ancient city. This poster was inspired by the many fascinating old doors we discovered while wandering through its winding streets. Every historic door was unique in colour, texture, and design. Each featured a distinct doorknob and stood as a testament to time. This particular door awakened my curiosity, making me wonder about the stories it could tell. What lies behind it, and whose lives were touched by the generations of families who have walked through it? This piece is meant to ignite your imagination and spark your desire to visit a region where history and beauty wait around every corner.”

Marzamemi Moments

“This artwork was sketched on location in Marzamemi, Sicily, a small fishing village. I was sitting in a local café, on the water’s edge, drinking strong black coffee, while the waiters were busy setting up the rest of the tables for lunch. The view across the water to the red building was so out of character with the other white buildings & apartments around it. A true open-air sketching experience.”
The proportions of this piece make the stretch of the coastal sky stand out immediately against the busyness of the harbour. The ink lines give the piece a loose structure that makes it quintessentially Moroccan, in both palette and design.
Shadows Of Sicily

“The villa Masseria was the most amazing eclectic mix of beautiful artefacts both inside and out. This collection of cacti were by the pool and the contrast of the living plants were beautifully balanced by the blue grey colour of the metal ones. They made a remarkable feature that I just loved.”

Rendered with delicate watercolor washes and organic linework, the painting beautifully balances these opposing natural and manufactured cacti forms, translating the artist’s joy of discovery into a celebration of unique Mediterranean garden design.
Piazza Specchia

“The artwork was created in Specchia, a delightful, traditional village in Puglia. It is special to me because it reminds me of my time there with my dear university friends, back in 1980.”
Evoking the rustic character of Puglia, this painting explores the interplay of light and shadow in a quiet corner of Specchia. The artist utilises bold, textured brushstrokes and a rich palette of terracotta red, ochre, and deep charcoal to define the historic stone facades and cobbled piazzas.
