Our 2026 Charity Art Exhibition has a collection of artwork created by members of our Amici community, each inspired by their painting holidays and travels with Flavours Holidays.
Morocco is a destination full of colour, patterns and contrasts. From the lively streets of Marrakech to the peaceful landscapes beyond the city, there is inspiration around every corner.
Our Amici artists have captured their own memories of Morocco through their artwork, showcasing the places, details and moments that stood out during their travels.

“Marrakech remains one of my absolute favourite journeys – a place rich in every sense of the word, overflowing with colour, fragrance, sound, and pure vibrancy. I will never forget walking into the Medina at night as life erupted in every direction; it was an overwhelming sensory experience, with everyone seeming to be having a wonderful time. For me, this painting holds the irreplaceable magic of an unforgettable evening. It stands as a joyful reminder that art doesn’t have to be technically perfect to capture a beautiful memory.”

Moroccan Tiles

“When creating this piece, I wanted to capture the overriding memories of my time in Morocco: the vivid blue of the sky, the brilliant sun, and the earthy terracotta tones of the buildings. During my stay at Villa Azure, two distinctively shaped palm trees caught my eye, and I knew they had to be included. I was also deeply inspired by the Majorelle Gardens, with its striking contrast of vibrant blues, lush greens, and intricate tile work found on one of the entrance signs.
Lastly, I included an architectural carving I spotted on a street corner. Unbeknownst to me at the time, it was actually the corner of a police station where photography was strictly prohibited! I carried on sketching and taking photos completely unaware. It always brings a smile to my face when I think back to that moment and the trouble I almost caused.”

Flavours Of The Souk

This vibrant piece captures the rich sensory atmosphere of a traditional Moroccan souk. Overflowing woven sacks line the stall, filled to the brim with deeply pigmented spices. The colour palette ranges from brilliant saffron yellows and deep indigo blues to rich ochres and earthy greens. Above the colourful mounds hang unique local goods, including dried gourds and traditional artefacts. The piece beautifully reflects the timeless charm that defines the heart of Morocco’s bustling market culture.

This richly textured piece captures the breathtaking contrast of Morocco’s geography, where ancient settlements rest at the base of the majestic Atlas Mountains. Using a gestural impasto brushstroke, the artist brings a weight and energy to the snow-capped peaks looming overhead. Below, a lone minaret rises above a compact village, nestled beautifully within a sweeping landscape of cool, soft greens. The artwork captures the raw grandeur and enduring spirit of Morocco.

“This loose watercolour painting is my attempt to evoke the essence and atmosphere of Marrakesh. The terracotta-coloured buildings, palm trees, and layered shadows suggest to me the many layers of an intriguing culture.”
The composition of this artwork juxtaposes the fluid fronds of a prominent palm tree with the geometries of historic terracotta battlements rising in the distance. By utilising bleeding watercolour washes and shadows, the piece moves beyond literal representation to capture the deep mystery of the North African oasis.

A vibrant homage to traditional North African craftsmanship, this patchwork composition captures the bustling energy of Marrakesh’s legendary souks. The artwork beautifully reinterprets the layered beauty of hand-woven Berber carpets. By framing diverse patterns with stitched ink borders, the piece reflects the multi-layered tapestry of the culture itself. It serves as a colourful milestone in the artist’s personal creative revival, which grew from online classes in lockdown to immersive international art creations.

Remember that every artwork sold from The Art of Morocco collection and every donation will help support Maggie’s, which provides free support for people living with cancer and their families, and Pebbles Projects, which helps disadvantaged children and families in South Africa through education, nutrition and community programmes.

The 2026 Travel Art Charity Exhibition will be running from the 7th to 14th of August from 10AM – 3PM daily, at our Flavours HQ – 1 Miller Row, Edinburgh EH4 3BQ. We hope to see you there!
Unframed A3 prints are priced at £55, A4 prints are £39. A small £3.50 charge is added if you’d like us to post a print to you.
Framed prints can be collected at the exhibition (£65 A3 and £49 A4).
