How to make chocolate souffle

This tasty chocolate soufflé with a rich chocolate filling is very straight forward to make and is a favourite of our Italian Chef Livia. This recipe is certainly made for all the chocolate lovers out there. With only six ingredients you can put together this easy yet impressive chocolate soufflé in no time at all. This recipe doesn’t need any special equipment either, just a bowl and a whisk. You can prepare this dessert in advance, kept in the freezer and cooked from frozen.

  • Serves: 4
  • Preparation Time: 20 mins
  • Cooking Time: 45 mins

Ingredients:

  • 110g dark chocolate (70%)
  • 110g butter (room temperature)
  • 2 eggs
  • 50g sugar
  • 30g flour
  • Some butter to grease the the mould

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 200oc

    Melt the butter and the dark chocolate together in a bain-marie, mixing the 2 ingredients well.

  2. When the ingredients are melted, wait until they cool down to room temperature before adding into other ingredients.

  3. In a bowl whip the egg yolks and the sugar together, then add the flour.

  4. Whip the egg whites separately in another bowl.

  5. Now mix together all the ingredients.

  6. Grease each mould and sprinkle with coco powder (rather than flour) to prevent sticking to the edges.  Fill the moulds with the mixture.

  7. Cook for between 12-15 minutes, so that the inside will stay creamy.

    Serve hot!
