Our Nordic Walking Instructors
Susie Gale
Having worked in a stressful marketing job and constantly plagued with back and neck pain, it was suggested that Susie tried practicing Pilates. From the outset she was hooked and became such an avid student, she dropped out of the corporate world and retrained as a Body Control Pilates teacher, at one of the foremost ‘schools’ of Pilates.
Some 16 years later, Susie has a thriving business, teaching group classes, and private and corporate clients across the UK and Europe. She relocated from Cheshire to Dumfries & Galloway in 2012 and works in her garden studio teaching mat work and Reformer sessions, overlooking the Solway Firth.
Her classes are taught with precision but most importantly with a sense of humour. Susie says ‘ I can’t promise you a new body in a week but I can introduce you to the joys of Pilates and hope to share my passion with you that could start you on your own Pilates journey. I can also encourage existing Pilates devotees to think differently to enhance their practice.’

Amanda Parr
Amanda is a highly experienced Body Control Pilates instructor who firmly believes in integrating Pilates into daily routines, making it a way of life.
“I have been teaching Pilates since 2003, having qualified as an instructor after a car accident caused a neck injury. I quickly discovered that Pilates benefited my entire body, not just my neck. I enjoy teaching and running a small studio at home, collaborating closely with local physiotherapists. Teaching Pilates in Italy is the best; it provides an opportunity to get to know the guests, tailor lessons to suit everyone, and exercise outdoors in the glorious sunshine.”

Hannah Plom
Hannah first discovered Pilates while studying for her A-levels in the late 1990s, and it quickly became an essential part of her life. Over the years, she has used the Pilates Method to manage lower back pain, joint hypermobility and to support her recovery from hip surgeries, gaining a deep, personal understanding of its transformative benefits.
Motivated by her own experience of how mindful movement and spinal mobility can support long-term health and vitality, Hannah trained with Body Control Pilates to become a certified teacher in 2010. Today, she leads a full schedule of matwork classes, private sessions, and studio-based equipment work in central Hampshire.
Her teaching style is warm, supportive, and inclusive. Whether you’re a beginner, managing a medical condition, or a professional athlete, Hannah is passionate about helping you move better and feel stronger, both physically and mentally.
In 2025, she added Nordic Walking to her repertoire, becoming a Total Body Walking Instructor with Nordic Walking UK. She has been amazed by how walking with poles has improved her posture, balance, and overall fitness – especially around her total hip replacement.
When she’s not teaching or studying more about bodies and movement, you’ll find Hannah playing the flute, reading, or soaking up the sun.
She looks forward to sharing her love of movement with you on one of our Nordic Walking holidays.
