Itinerary

Day 1 - Flight to Pisa

You will arrive at Pisa Airport where you will be met and transferred to your Tuscan villa. Once you’ve dropped off your bags, there are welcome drinks on the terrace followed by lunch and you’ll meet your painting teacher for the trip. Your tutor will give an introductory talk before guiding you through your first painting lesson. In the evening, you’ll have dinner at the villa.

Day 2 - Introduction to watercolours

After breakfast, you will receive an introduction to watercolour techniques. Your teacher will discuss the course outline, your aims and expectations and then go through different techniques, kinds of paper and brushes. Spend the rest of the morning putting everything you’ve learned into practice before lunch, prepared by your villa’s chef. In the afternoon, you can take a break from your art to relax by the pool or continue your sketching and painting. There will be another dinner at the villa tonight.

Day 3 - Landscape painting

In the morning, you’ll head out to the Tuscan countryside to paint the landscape en plein air. Your tutor will demonstrate to the group, looking at different ways to apply colour and mixing media like pastel and coloured pencil. Lunch will be at a local trattoria and then the afternoon is yours to enjoy or for more painting. Before dinner at the villa, your teacher will talk you through your work so far.

Day 4 - Return flight

After breakfast, spend the time putting the finishing touches to your work. Then, following lunch at the villa, you’ll head back to the airport to fly home, complete with your very own painting to take back to the UK and frame.
