Known as il cuore verde d’Italia – the green heart of Italy – Umbria was a favourite region of Renaissance artists and Romantic poets for its vast, dramatic landscapes. Well-known for its olive oil, black truffle and some of the best-selling white wine in Italy, Umbria is a fantastic region to learn to cook traditional delicacies bursting with flavour and history.

Cooking Holiday in Umbria - Itinerary

Day 1

Benvenuti!

Benvenuti! Welcome to Umbria! You will arrive at the villa where you can settle in, meet your chef and host and enjoy welcome drinks. Dinner this evening is at the villa, prepared by your chef.

Day 2

First cooking lesson, lunch, relax or explore.

After breakfast, you will be in the kitchen for your first cooking lesson with your chef and enjoy your results for lunch. In the afternoon, we will visit Orvieto, a remarkable town renowned for its stunning medieval architecture, rich history, and its dramatic position atop a flat volcanic plateau. You will have some time for sightseeing or shopping before heading to a local Trattoria for dinner.

Day 3

Second cooking lesson, lunch in the Villa

After breakfast you will have your second cooking lesson in the kitchen followed by lunch at the villa. The afternoon is for you to relax, enjoy time spent by the pool, read a book, explore the grounds of the villa, Dinner this evening will be prepared by your chef.

Day 4

Visit Bolsena, winery visit in the afternoon

In the morning following breakfast we will visit Bolsena, a lovely medieval town and its peaceful and picturesque lake. We will then enjoy a light lunch and wine tasting in Montefiascone, which is famous for its wine production. In the late afternoon, you will have your third cookery lesson back at the villa and enjoy the results for your dinner.

Day 5

Third cooking lesson, and afternoon relaxation

Start your day with breakfast and then follow our chef in the kitchen for another hands-on cooking class before enjoying the fruit of your hard work for lunch. The afternoon is free for you to relax or wander around the villa before gathering for drinks and dinner.

Day 6

Visit Pitigliano

In the morning after breakfast, we will visit Pitigliano, a charming medieval village steeped in history and architectural beauty where we will also enjoy lunch at one of our favourite restaurants before returning to the villa later that afternoon. Dinner this evening will be prepared by your chef.

Day 7

Final cooking lesson, farewell dinner

Today, you’ll have your final cooking lesson, followed by lunch. Your afternoon is free to relax in the stunning grounds of the villa. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner with your fellow guests prepared by your chef.

Day 8

Arrivederci!

After breakfast, our driver will come to collect you for the group transfer back to Perugia Airport for your flight home. Arrivederci!
