Painting Holidays in Bologna
Bologna is Italy’s foodie heartland, the centre of an exceptional food-producing region, where some of Italy’s most famous produce is made, including tortellini, Parma ham, Parmesan, and balsamic vinegar. The city itself is a medieval beauty, housing the world’s oldest university and attractive colonnaded streets – great for sketching, or just for wandering, perhaps taking photos to use later. And on our trip to Ravenna, visit churches containing world-famous mosaic art, lit up by cleverly positioned stained-glass windows.
Our base is in the peaceful hills south of Bologna, where you’ll have painting sessions on various aspects of colour, materials and style. Our tutor is used to teaching every level of artist from beginner to accomplished, so no need to worry about how good you are. He’s talented, encouraging and patient. You’ll also have plenty of time to relax and enjoy delicious Italian food and wine in stunning surroundings.

Where you're going to stay
Our villa is a beautifully restored large farmhouse, situated in rural Tredozio on top of the highest hill. Enjoy the tranquility and unforgettable views of the surrounding area and the Apennine hills. The sun rises from the Romagnole Apennines to warm up the large swimming pool and al fresco dining area, and sets behind the Tuscan Apennines. The hills stretch endlessly from the villa, and you can easily stroll on nearby tracks, as well as simply relax with a drink in the large garden, gazing at the limitless view. It’s a peaceful painters’ paradise.
