Tuscany is world famous for hearty food, rich culture and stunning landscapes, making it the ideal location for a painting holiday. Take your time to scan the landscape for the perfect composition, capture the details of beautiful local villages, and visit historic cities like Volterra and get lost in their ancient streets, taking the chance to sketch their beautiful buildings.
The venues for our painting holidays in Tuscany are surrounded by breathtaking countryside and provide wonderful inspiration for painters. Not only are the views stunning, the grounds of the villas are the perfect place to relax and get the creative juices flowing!
With a sketchbook, easels and boards provided, all of the big details are taken care of for you, and Flavours will provide you with a handy list of painting materials to bring with you for your trip.
The painting was brilliant, our great tutor gave me lots of tips to improve my skills. The landscapes were very inspiring. The food and wine were excellent. Flavours is great value for money because everything is included.

Villa Accommodation
Stunning views are essential for a painting holiday in Italy and that is why our villas are hand-picked to find the perfect location. We have carefully chosen areas of Tuscany famous for their breathtaking scenery to inspire our guests – what could be better than painting the olive groves, rolling hills and vineyards? When you are not painting, take some time to relax by the pool and wander the grounds of the estate. All bedrooms are ensuite and decorated in a contemporary style.
Painting in Tuscany - Itinerary
Day 1
Benvenuti!
Benvenuti! Welcome to Tuscany! You will arrive at the villa where you can settle in, meet your chef and teacher and enjoy welcome drinks. Dinner this evening is at the villa, prepared by your chef.
Day 2
Your first sketching
This morning you have your first sketching and painting session with your teacher. This will include discussing the course outline, aims, and expectations and getting started. The session will be followed by lunch prepared by your chef. The afternoon is yours to continue sketching and painting, or to relax by the pool. Dinner is prepared for you at the villa.
Day 3
A day of drawing and painting followed by dinner at the villa.
After breakfast, spend some time drawing and painting both at the villa or while wandering around a nearby village where you can enjoy amazing views of the Tuscan landscape
Day 4
A day trip to explore a beautiful local town.
After breakfast, our driver will take you out on an excursion. Get inspired by the architecture and the charm of the town. Dinner will be prepared for you at the villa.
Day 5
Today's painting session will give you time to develop your watercolour and drawing skills
After breakfast, you will develop your watercolour and drawing skills in another painting session with your teacher. The afternoon is yours to continue painting or relaxing around the villa and pool. Lunch and dinner are at the villa.
Day 6
Visit to Volterra
Today you will make your way to Volterra, one of Tuscany’s best-preserved historical towns filled with fine examples of Etruscan, Roman, and Renaissance architecture and also has a beautiful garden (Parco Archeologico Enrico Fiumi) to explore.
Day 7
Spend today relaxing by the pool or painting.
Today is your final day of drawing and painting, with time to finish off your work and relax at the villa. Later this evening, we’ll have an exhibition of your artwork to the group, followed by a special farewell dinner prepared by your chef
Day 8
Arrivederci!
After breakfast, you’ll have some time to pack before our driver takes you on our group transfer back to Pisa Airport for your flight home. Arrivederci!
