Where you’re going to stay
Our idyllic painting venue is a renovated Saracen tower set on the dramatic cliffs of the Amalfi coast. The villa offers breathtaking views of the stunning coastline and sea below. Built in 1532, the villa is rich in history and is the perfect venue for an inspiring painting holiday. With a panoramic terrace for al fresco dining and an enticing swimming pool, you are sure to find this venue relaxing and inspiring. Typical for the Amalfi Coast, our villa comes with a moderate amount of steps.
Day 1 (Saturday)
Private transfer to the villa
Our Flavours transfer will meet you at Naples Airport and take you to the villa for welcome drinks on the terrace followed by dinner.
Day 2 (Sunday)
Your first painting session, an introduction to watercolour techniques
After breakfast, you will have an introduction to watercolour; looking at basic techniques, different kinds of paper, and brushes etc. The afternoon is yours to relax or paint more. Dinner is at the villa.
Day 3 (Monday)
Landscape painting demonstration followed by outing to Amalfi.
Start the day with a demonstration of landscape painting after breakfast, looking at the different ways to apply watercolour and mixing media like pastel and coloured pencil. Following lunch, the group will visit Amalfi to practice various techniques. Dinner will be at the villa.
Day 4 (Tuesday)
Painting and sketching in Amalfi followed by excursion to Positano.
Enjoy a day in Amalfi for painting & sketching, spend the morning at the harbour followed by lunch at a trattoria. Continue painting in the afternoon in Positano, before dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 5 (Wednesday)
Enjoy painting lesson about composition and colour
After breakfast, there will be a lesson on the elements of composition and colour. Lunch is on the terrace. The afternoon is free to paint more or relax at the villa. Dinner will be at the villa.
Day 6 (Thursday)
A morning of painting followed by an afternoon visit to Ravello
A chance today to try a larger and more ambitious work using the sketches and ideas you have accumulated so far. Following lunch, an afternoon visit to Ravello with an opportunity to sketch and paint. Dinner will be at a local restaurant in Ravello.
Day 7 (Friday)
A day of painting and relaxation at the villa
A leisurely morning spent at the villa painting and developing your work. For the rest of your last day, you are free to paint or relax by the pool. The chef will prepare a farewell dinner at the villa with a group exhibition of your paintings.
Day 8 (Saturday)
Private transfer to airport after breakfast.
After breakfast, our transfer will take you back to Naples Airport. Please note the itinerary is an example. Visits will depend on location, and are subject to change depending on the weather and allowing for the Italian ways.
What should you bring?
Prior to departure, your painting teacher will supply you with the list of painting materials you need for the course.
